Our Mental Health Skill Building treatment is focused on assisting the client with independent living skills. We believe that effective treatment must address all aspects of ones living environment and treatment and recovery works best in a community-based, coordinated setting.
Individuals qualifying for Mental Health Skill Building Services must demonstrate a clinical necessity for the service arising from a condition due to mental, behavioral, or emotional illness that results in significant functional impairments in major life activities.
Ages 21 and over must Must have one of the primary Axis I DSM: 1)Schizophrenia or other psychotic disorder as set out in DSM 2) Major Depressive Disorder-Recurrent 3) Bipolar I; or Bipolar II; 4) Any other Axis I mental health disorder that a physician has documented: serious mental illness; severe and recurrent disability; functional limitations; major life activities; and requires individualized training to maintain independence in the community
Require individualized training in acquiring basic living skills Prior history of any of the following: psychiatric hospitalization; Residential crisis stabilization; Intensive Community Treatment (ICT); Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT); Temporary Detention Order (TDO)
· Have a prescription for anti-psychotic, mood stabilizing, or antidepressant medications within the 12 months prior to the assessment date
